Children and Young People's Workforce

Foundation Degree in Development and Learning
Level 2 Certificate for Children and Young People's Workforce
This qualification helps learners develop the skills and knowledge required when working with children and young people from birth to 19 years of age.
It is aimed at those who are working in a supervised role in the children and young people’s workforce.
To qualify for this course, learners should be at least 16 years old and employed in a childcare setting. Learners will need to be working as they will need to show competence in both knowledge and skills.
You will be assessed by a variety of ways which can include direct observation within the workplace, a portfolio of evidence or written assignments.
This qualification can be completed within one year.
This certificate will require 35 credits in total. Credits and learning can be transferred from this qualification to the Level 3 Diploma for Children and Young People’s Workforce providing a direct progression route.

Level 3 Diploma for Children and Young People’s Workforce
This qualification helps learners develop the skills and knowledge required when working with children and young people from birth to 19 years of age.
It is aimed at those who are working in an un-supervised role in the children and young people’s workforce.
To qualify for this course, learners should have at least two years’ experience of working in the children and young people’s workforce. Learners will need to be working as they will need to show competence in both knowledge and skills.
You will be assessed by a variety of ways which can include direct observation within the workplace, a portfolio of evidence or written assignments.
This qualification can be completed within one year.
This certificate will require 65 credits in total.

Work Based Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2
This qualification develops the knowledge and skills needed when working with adults in health and social care environments. It covers a wide range of areas including supporting individuals with their physical and emotional care, daily living needs, and health care procedures.
It is aimed at all those who wish to work or are working in a supervised role with adults in health and social care environments.
It will be internally assessed by a range of methods. This could include direct observation within the workplace, a portfolio of evidence and written assignments. Learners will need to be working or on practical placement in a health and social care environment as they need to show competence in both knowledge and skills.
This is the main qualification required by the Quality Care Commission in England and the Care Councils in Wales and Northern Ireland.

Learners will need to be working or on practical placement in a health and social care environment as they need to show competence in both knowledge and skills.
