BCAs Principal and CEO set to leave the College in April 2021

We would like to formally announce that our current Principal, Gillian May, is set to leave the College in April 2021 having been appointed to the post of CEO and Group Principal of The Windsor Forest Colleges Group.

Since her appointment as Principal here at BCA back in 2013, Gillian has led significant improvement  – diversifying the curriculum, stabilising finances, seeing the College rated number one for 16-18-year-old student achievement in Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and the Thames Valley in the Department for Education’s (DfE) results tables (2018/19) and securing an Ofsted ‘Good’ rating, all of which has seen the Colleges’ reputation prosper and student numbers grow year on year.

After having been in the role for almost eight years, Gillian explains “leading BCA has given me immense pride; it has been the most rewarding role in my career to date. Anyone who knows our College will appreciate the high level of support that we provide to our students and the incredible things that they (our students) go on to achieve. I would like to thank the amazing team at BCA for all that they do for our students and community. I look forward to maintaining a collaborative relationship with BCA in the future.”

Pippa Goodwin, Chair of BCAs Board of Governors, comments “Gillian has been an outstanding Principal, colleague, and friend to so many of us and she will be very much missed but we would like to take this opportunity to wish her the very best in her new role.”

Our current Vice Principal, Anne Entwistle, will step into the role of Interim Principal until a suitable replacement for Gillian has been appointed. Anne will be supported by our Finance Director, Richard Munday, who as the College finance lead, will work closely with her and the Governors over the coming months.
