This course will develop fundamental numeracy skills by linking them to real-life scenarios, such as managing personal finances, working with time and measurement, and simple geometry (describing movement, position and direction as used everyday, in a variety of contexts).
All topic teaching will incorporate practical activities, together with classroom-based learning. The course will include role playing activities, in which learners will need to use their mathematical skills. We will make extensive use of physical resources, manipulatives and visuals to support our learners’ understanding.
