You will learn how children play as well as how activities and observations are carried out to support children’s learning and development. At higher levels, you will learn how to apply theoretical knowledge to support children’s learning and development.

  • LEVEL 1 NCFE CACHE Diploma in Introduction to Health, Social Care and Children’s and Young People’s Settings

    About the course

    This course will provide the opportunity for those who want to work in the Health & Social Care or Early Years sectors to achieve a Level 1/2 qualification. The units covered in this course contain 50% that are applicable to the Health & Social Care learning to allow students to make informed decisions as to which sector they would prefer to either continue to study at Level 3, or gain employment in.

    Students studying this qualification will also be enrolled on the care Certificate (TGM), which will provide an additional, stand-alone qualification which can be used in both sectors.

    Progression

    Learners who achieve the Level 1/2 qualification at Merit level or above and L2 English, maths and science will be interviewed for progression on to a higher level of study within the Early Years or Health & Social Care departments.

    GCSE/Functional Skills

    All full-time students, aged between 16-18, will study GCSE or Functional Skills in Maths and English, if they don’t already hold an A*- C level GCSE in the subject. This is an integral part of their vocational study programme at BCA. Students over 19 are also encouraged to refresh and accredit their skills alongside vocational study.

  • LEVEL 2 NCFE CACHE Diploma in Early Years/Health & Social Care

    About the course

    This course will provide the opportunity for those who want to work in the Health & Social Care or Early Years sectors to achieve a Level 1/2 qualification. The units covered in this course contain 50% that are applicable to the Health & Social Care learning to allow students to make informed decisions as to which sector they would prefer to either continue to study at Level 3, or gain employment in.

  • Level 3 NCFE CACHE Technical Certificate in Childcare and Education

    About the course

    With significant vocational experience over the year, this course is a full-time programme, specifically designed for those who wish to obtain UCAS points or an introduction to working at L3 with children. This course is also suitable for those who want to undertake a top up apprenticeship. You will learn the core skills required to recognise the children’s patterns of development and plan activities and strategies to promote and support Children’s Play, Learning and Development.

    Progression

    For people who already have some UCAS points, this course will provide the top up required to gain entry into Higher Education. Alternatively, this course could be used to gain knowledge and introductory skills before undertaking an Early Years Educator apprenticeship.

  • Level 3 NCFE CACHE Technical Diploma in Childcare and Education (Early Years Educator)

    About the course

    With significant vocational experience over the 2 years, this course is a full-time programme, specifically designed for those who wish to obtain Early Years Educator status. You will learn the core skills required to recognise the children’s patterns of development and plan activities and strategies to promote and support children’s Play, Learning and Development.

    Progression

    After this course, you will have occupational licence to practise in an Early Years setting which could include working in a supervisory capacity. The course also offers UCAS points which can enable progression into Higher Education.
