About the Course
The aim of this course is to provide you with a foundation level of life and work skills, developing some basic skills you may already have.
Through the course topics, you will learn about being healthy, keeping safe, first aid, personal and home hygiene, introduction to money, and traveling safely.
Through some work experience in the college shop and cafe, you will build confidence and gain work experience to give you a basic understanding of what might be expected of you in the workplace. Classroom-based work skills will help you to learn to complete application forms, produce a simple CV, and practice interview skills.
There will be some trips to consolidate the learning and to see other people at work.
You should be confident to carry out some basic written and numerical activities and to work independently and in small groups.
Entry requirements: To attend this course, you should be happy to write short sentences that can be copied from the board and complete worksheets on work and life skills.
