Level 2 T-Level Transition: Health

About The Course

The teaching of the Health T-Level Transition program will incorporate our brand new state-of-the-art Health Science Centre which supports our continued reputation for the excellent delivery of Health Studies.

The Health T-Level Transition route provides students with valuable industry experience as well as the opportunity to work directly within a functioning healthcare facility at the College. Facilities include a functioning dementia cafe, therapy room, life skills kitchens and fully equipped science labs. The course is industry focused with 315 hours, or approximately 45 days of industry placement.

What is a T-Level Transition Programme

The T-Level Transition programme provides a high-quality technical equivalent to a level 2 qualification, combining science, maths, literacy and research. The T-Level Transition programme builds on our success rates with the awarding body NCFE, Cache.

Technical qualifications will provide students with the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to progress onto the full T-level programme. The core knowledge and understanding will be assessed through a level 2 Diploma in Applied Science, a level 2 Extended Project in Health Studies, maths for science programme and literacy skills for research.

The course is challenging, with learners expected to be self-reliant, taking responsibility for their own learning by producing well-researched and referenced submissions to meet course deadlines. Students are supported by an experienced team of lecturers, some of whom also work part-time in the Health and Social Care industry.

This course also requires a DBS which is organised through the College at a cost of £48, payable at enrolment and will incorporate a stand-alone, full first aid qualification at a cost of £26.

Core knowledge and understanding will be assessed through assignments, a research project and core skills through a practical employer-set project. In addition to this, maths, English and general digital skills will be integrated within the qualification in occupationally relevant contexts.

Entry Requirements

Four GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English, maths and science.
