We offer teaching to suit all levels and abilities of learner ranging from introductory to sub management levels of qualification. We have modern equipment/technology in our purpose built workshop designed to give learners the experience and skills of a real motor vehicle repair workshop.

The team are all ex-motor trade and have a great enthusiasm not only for vehicles but also for imparting their knowledge to the learners.

    About the course

    This course provides an introduction to the motor vehicle industry and prepares learners to either progress to Level 1 or an apprenticeship. As well as practical sessions in the motor vehicle workshop, the study programme includes Functional Skills or GCSE in English and maths. This course has no motor vehicle exams and is course work based.

    Progression

    Progression on to the Level 1 ABC or City & Guilds qualifications, or a motor vehicle apprenticeship.

    GCSE/Functional Skills

    All full-time students, aged between 16-18, will study GCSE or Functional Skills in Maths and English, if they don’t already hold an A*- C level GCSE in the subject. This is an integral part of their vocational study programme at BCA. Students over 19 are also encouraged to refresh and accredit their skills alongside vocational study.

  • ABC Level 1 Diploma in Motor Vehicle Studies

    About the course

    This course provides an introduction to the motor vehicle industry and prepares learners to move on to a Level 2 qualification with ABC, City and Guilds or an apprenticeship. As well as practical sessions in the motor vehicle workshop, the course includes GCSE English and maths and also work experience.

    Progression

    Progression on to the ABC or City and Guilds Level 2 Certificate or Diploma in Motor Vehicle, or a Level 2 motor vehicle based apprenticeship.

    GCSE/Functional Skills

    All full-time students, aged between 16-18, will study GCSE or Functional Skills in Maths and English, if they don’t already hold an A*- C level GCSE in the subject. This is an integral part of their vocational study programme at BCA. Students over 19 are also encouraged to refresh and accredit their skills alongside vocational study.

  • City & Guilds Level 1 Diploma in Motor Vehicle Studies

    About the course

    This course provides an introduction to the motor vehicle industry and prepares learners to move on to a Level 2 qualification. Also required is one week of work experience in the motor vehicle industry.

    About the course

    This course is a progressing qualification which provides a greater insight in to the motor vehicle industry. This prepares learners to progress into the motor trade through an apprenticeship. As well as practical sessions in the motor vehicle workshop, the course includes GCSE classes in English and maths, where necessary. Work experience of two weeks is required for learners to find as part of the course requirements.

    Progression

    This qualification prepares you for an apprenticeship in the motor vehicle industry. The knowledge and skills developed during this programme can enable you to progress to a technical or professional position.

    GCSE/Functional Skills

    All full-time students, aged between 16-18, will study GCSE or Functional Skills in Maths and English, if they don’t already hold an A*- C level GCSE in the subject. This is an integral part of their vocational study programme at BCA. Students over 19 are also encouraged to refresh and accredit their skills alongside vocational study.

    About the course

    This course prepares learners to enter employment in the motor vehicle maintenance and repair industry. Successful completion of the course will result in the award of the Level 2 City & Guilds VRQ Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair.

    Progression

    Successful completion of this programme can provide the basis for progression to the Level 3 City & Guilds VRQ Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or an apprenticeship.

  • City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair

    About the course

    A technical qualification for students wishing to specialise in the maintenance, repair and fault diagnostics of vehicle systems. It builds on the successful completion of a Level 2 Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair course. Diagnostic skills are established through classroom and workshop based training and practice. This knowledge and the associated skills are developed in the application and use of a range of test equipment.

    Progression

    This qualification prepares you for employment in the motor vehicle industry. The knowledge and skills developed during this programme can enable you to progress to a technical or professional position, or an apprenticeship.
