Outdoor Education

You will be involved in a range of practical activities on a weekly basis, which will include kayaking, canoeing, orienteering, climbing, archery and sailing.

For those students wishing to study Outdoor Education at Level 2, you can enrol on our Level 1/2 First Extended Certificate in Sport with Outdoor Education based practical modules. Progression from this course is on to the Level 3 Diploma in Outdoor Education.

    About the Course

    This is a work related programme, learning by completing projects and assignments that are based on a career in the outdoor industry, with opportunities to work in the outdoor centre on campus and gain additional recognised qualifications in outdoor education. This course is ideal for those considering a career in outdoor education with a focus on leading sessions and activities.

    Progression

    The course is the equivalent to 3 A Levels preparing students to progress on to Higher Education studying at university. In addition, this course is perfect preparation for students wishing to go into a career in the industry.

    *There are options for learners to study a 1 year 60 credit subsidiary diploma or 90 credit diploma qualification.

    Entry Requirements

    A minimum of 5 GCSEs at C or above to include English and maths.
