BCA is proud to be able to offer students the opportunity to work towards and achieve The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE), the world’s leading youth achievement award.
Many students find achieving a DofE Award life-changing, a fun adventure and major challenge. The award helps students in terms of pushing personal boundaries, gaining new skills and enhancing their CVs and university applications.
You achieve your Award by completing a personal programme of activities in four sections The length of time you have to spend on each section depends on the level of programme you’re doing; the sections are:
- Volunteering – helping someone, your community or the environment;
- Physical – becoming fitter through sport, dance or fitness activities;
- Skills – developing existing talents or trying something new;
- Expedition – planning, training for and completing an adventurous journey
For further information on joining the DofE programme please contact Keith Hardee on KRhardee@bca.ac.uk or call 01628 827456.
