Welcome to BCA and our new academic year

A MESSAGE FOR STUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES
1st SEPTEMBER 2020:

We would like to provide you with some important information about coming to college and how we intend to keep you safe.  Please take the time to read this carefully and contact us by email enquiries@bca.ac.uk if you have any questions or concerns.

Our term starts on Monday 7th September 2020, please check the information that you received at enrolment to find out which days you will need to be on campus and which day you will be taught on-line.  If you haven’t already received your timetable you will receive it on your first day at college.

Staying Safe on the BCA Campus

It’s really important that you follow the instructions given by your tutor and familiarise yourself on the first day with the new safety procedures.

If you are using our bus or coach service it’s essential that you apply hand sanitiser when boarding the bus and wear a facemask at all times.  When you arrive at BCA you must sanitise your hands. Hand sanitiser will be freely available throughout the buildings on the campus.

On your first day, you will be met outside the Reception building and directed to your department area where a member of staff will be waiting for you and will escort you to your ‘curriculum pod’.

You must stay with your pod throughout the day.  Each pod has a designated classroom, practical and outside space. We also have one-way systems in the buildings which you must adhere to.

Please bring your own stationery (notebook, pens), you can also bring your own laptop or tablet if you prefer not to use the college equipment.

You will be directed by your tutor to wipe down equipment after use and we need you to take care of your pod with the cleaning equipment provided throughout the day. Please bring a packed lunch if possible but don’t worry if this is not possible as two of our cafes will be open and happy to serve you, there will however be a limited menu. You will need to return to your pod with any food purchased and eat your lunch in the pod. Staff will be supervising your lunch break.

We expect all staff and students (unless you are exempt) to wear a face mask when you are in communal areas such as the corridors or cafes and when moving around the campus.  Your tutor will tell you more about this on your first day with us.

Finally, for those of you who have purchased a bus pass but have not come into the college to enrol, please note that your pass is currently available for collection from Reception (between 8am and 5pm). If you are unable to collect your pass prior to the start of term please collect it on your first day at college. You should present your receipt as proof of purchase.

We hope you have a very enjoyable and successful year at BCA and look forward to welcoming you to the BCA campus.

From all of the team at BCA
