This course covers health & safety issues and legislation relating to using chainsaws in the work-place. It takes the operator through various maintenance activities and the underpinning knowledge surrounding those tasks, before looking at starting procedures. Crosscutting timber is covered as is assessing timber and selecting the appropriate cutting sequence to cope with tension and compression.

- You will need to bring your own chainsaw and appropriate PPE, although we do have equipment that can be hired for the duration of the course if needed.
