You will learn through a combination of lectures, workshops, practical/theory sessions, practical assignment work and regular industry professional contact.
This course is highly practical. Coursework is internally assessed. We assess in a variety of ways including video and audio work, slideshow annotations of technical skills development, Q&As, essays, presentations, pitches, video and audio practical outcomes. We also host feedback sessions (critiques) from industry professionals.
Students will begin on a one-year Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology, equivalent to 1.5 A-Levels. Successful completion of year one will lead to progression on to the second year where they will study to achieve the Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology, equivalent to 3 A-Levels.

Our Level 3 students undertake industry placement. Traditional placement consists of 1 weeks block placement, followed up with one day a week in the same placement for the rest of the academic year. You will be well-prepared to go out into the world of work through seminar exploration and skills development sessions and to a destination suited to your individual progression. You will also get to work on live projects with cross-college departments and external clients as part of our professional development sessions. We also invite visiting speakers to meet with you and to run specialist workshops.
The full two-year programme is the equivalent of 3 A-levels, preparing students to progress onto Higher Education studying a range of subjects at University such as Film & Television Production, Marketing, Multimedia Journalism, Animation Production, Creative Advertising and many more.
Alternatively, this course is the perfect preparation for students wishing to go into employment within the creative industries, making use of links with the BFI Film Academy, Resource Productions and numerous guest speakers and visitors.
