Performing Arts Interview Process

All Levels

Our study programme covers a wide range of performance opportunities and genres. Projects include: Singing, Dancing, Acting, Musical Theatre, Physical Theatre and National Competitions.

You will participate in a short solo or group audition followed by a 15 minute interview. In the interview you will be asked questions about your experience to date and why you are interested in the subject. We may review video work you have of school/college, professional or AmDram performances.A member of the ALS team may also be present to discuss any learning support needs.

You should have examples of show work you have done and be ready to talk about them. If you have no show work, we will ask you about your interest in the subject and to talk about theatre you have seen. If you have an EHCP, you will also be met by the ALS (Additional Learning Support) Team to assess your needs.

Your interview will be face to face…

Learners will pay a  ‘Trips and Visits Fee’ each year, to cover costs towards three theatre or career-related trips. You will be asked to wear all-black loose and comfortable clothing for practical lessons and some performances. Jazz and character shoes are a must. Other equipment is listed on our main subject page via the College website.

If you wish to make any amendments to your interview, please log back into your Student Portal, and choose ‘rearrange’ and select and alternative date and time.
