Production Arts Interview Process

All Levels

Our study programme covers a wide range of production relation opportunities and genres. Projects include:Set Design, Set Construction, Costume and Stage Management.

Interviews will be 30 minutes long and we will review practical work you have created . You will be asked questions about your interest in the subject, what theatre you have seen and what you would like to do post-college. A member of the ALS team may also be present to discuss any learning support needs.

You are asked to bring a portfolio or images (on your phone is ok) of practical work you have completed either at school/college or at home.  This can be designs, woodwork, AmDram or School productions, performance work, make-up – anything creative! If you have an EHCP, you will also be met by the ALS (Additional Learning Support ) Team to assess your needs.

Your interview will be in person at BCA.

Learners will pay a  ‘Trips and Visits Fee’ each year, to cover costs towards three theatre or career-related trips. You will be asked to provide some basic PPE for workshop sessions (boots, overalls or dungarees) and a set of black clothing for performances. Other equipment is listed on our main subject page via the College website.

If you wish to make any amendments to your interview, please log back into your Student Portal, and choose ‘rearrange’ and select and alternative date and time.
