Protective Services Interview Process

Level 1 Diploma in Protective Services & Outdoor Education

The course will provide an introduction into a wide range of areas subjects related to the Protective Services and Outdoor Education. It will also allow learners to continue to develop their literacy and numeracy skills with GCSE retakes.

During your interview you will be asked a range of questions designed to assess your suitability for the course. You will be expected to have a good understanding of what will be involved in the course you have applied for and be able to explain your strengths and achievements. A member of the ALS team may also be present to discuss any learning support needs.

We ask that you wear smart professional attire for your interview, school uniform is acceptable. Please bring with you a copy of your most recent school report and actual/predicted grades.

Your interview will be face to face.

To study this course you will be required to have smart, professional sports clothing and appropriate footwear for both indoor and outdoor activities. Links to specific kit bundles will be available to applicants who are offered a place. There is also an upfront trips fee of £50 which will go towards some of the trips/activities available on this course e.g. boot camp, Lee Valley white water rafting, mountain biking etc. *Please note that trips vary each year depending on availability.

If you wish to make any amendments to your interview, please log back into your Student Portal, and choose ‘rearrange’ and select and alternative date and time. 

Level 2 Extended Certificate in Public Services

Our Level 2 BTEC Diploma in Protective Services will cover a range of subjects and topics, both theory and practical, related to the Protective Services. It will also allow learners to continue to develop their literacy and numeracy skills with GCSE retakes if required.

During your interview you will be asked a range of questions designed to assess your suitability for the course. You will be expected to have a good understanding of what will be involved in the course you have applied for and be able to explain your strengths and achievements. A member of the ALS team may also be present to discuss any learning support needs.

Level 3 Extended Diploma in Uniformed Protective Services

Our Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Protective Services will cover a range of subjects and topics, both theory and practical, related to progression into a range of Protective Services careers. 

During your interview you will be asked a range of questions designed to assess your suitability for the course. You will be expected to have a good understanding of what will be involved in the course you have applied for and be able to explain your strengths and achievements. A member of the ALS team may also be present to discuss any learning support needs.

We ask that you wear smart professional attire for your interview, school uniform is acceptable. Please bring with you a copy of your most recent school report and actual/predicted grades. You may also be asked what your long term career aspirations are.

Your interview will be face to face. 

To study this course you will be required to have smart, professional sports clothing and appropriate footwear for both indoor and outdoor activities.
