What does the Maidenhead United football academy offer its players?

 

Our football academy programme is a football education development programme geared at developing the footballing skills of young players whilst supporting them to achieve academic excellence.

 

If students are interested in undertaking the Maidenhead United Football Academy programme alongside A-Levels, we have an arrangement with Windsor College where this may be possible and will be discussed further at interview.

Football Academy

We currently operate four men’s football teams and one ladies team as part of our Maidenhead United Football Academy. Our elite squad competes in one of the most prestigious U19 leagues in the country with a direct pathway into the MUFC first team as well as various semi-professional clubs. Our other squads also represent in high-level youth league and cup competitions and have opportunities to participate in national and international tours.

The academy also provides further opportunities to play in the FA Youth Cup, first team as well as progression options for various semi-professional football clubs.

What we offer

All of our academy players will receive:

  • A minimum 6 hours coaching/playing with UEFA licensed coaches
  • Individual Player Development Plans

Success Stories

Bradley joined Maidenhead United Academy following his release from Reading FC, where he had been since the age of 8. Brad represented us in the National League Academy and FA Youth Cup. In his first season with us, he made 18 appearances, scoring 11 goals. Brad joined the 1st team for pre-season training following this successful season and was rewarded with his first contract on his 18th Birthday – Bradley has now been with Maidenhead United for 5 seasons.

Reece Smith first joined Maidenhead United U16 and has progressed all the way through the Academy to the 1st team. Reece has currently made over 70 1st team appearances in the National League and has just recently signed a new contract with the club. This season he currently has 15 Goal & and Assist contributions

Fred Chapman first joined Maidenhead United U16 and has progressed all the way through the Academy to the 1st team. Fred represented the Academy in over 40 games helping them reach the 3rd round of the FA Youth Cup for two successive years. This led to Fred making his 1st team debut in the FA Trophy against Halesowen in the same season. Fred was part of the 2019 National English College team.

Taro was a fantastic addition to the Academy showing an ability to adapt and learn the role of any position he has been given. His adaptability has helped his journey to be selected for the England Colleges U19 squad.

Freddy joined Maidenhead United in 2019 and excelled in the classroom and on the football pitch. After two superb seasons playing week in and week out for the academy, Freddy left England to go to America on a football scholarship to the university of Wisconsin-Superior through Future Elite Sports

Joined Maidenhead United Academy in 2021 were finished top goal scorer in back-to-back seasons for the U19 whilst completing his education with BCA college. Christian then signed his first men’s contract with Maidenhead United and recently made his debut against Oxford United in the FA Cup 1st round.

Joined Maidenhead United academy and excelled in the classroom and on the football pitch. Archie left England to go to America on a football scholarship to the College Of Dupage Athletics.
