Some of our roles are advertised with a salary scale (with the bottom and top points of the scale listed on the advert and job description). When an offer of employment is made, we will conduct a salary assessment taking qualifications and experience into account.
Shortlisting will be carried out by a minimum of two members of staff, both of which will usually sit on the interview panel. The shortlisting panel score applications against the requirements of the role (as detailed in the job description and person specification). Shortlisting will normally take place within 2-weeks of the closing date listed on the job advert. Applicants who have not been contacted and invited for an interview within 2-weeks have not been successful in securing an interview. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer feedback to candidates who have not been shortlisted for interview.
Our interview process varies from role to role. The interview process for all roles will include a competency based interview. Other selection methods could include: • Delivering a presentation to the interview panel • Delivering a micro teach to a group of students (Lecturing roles) • Psychometric testing • Data processing/administrative exercises • Other practical exercises as appropriate, e.g. report writing, group exercise etc If you are invited to interview, you will be informed in advance of the selection methods to be used and given adequate time to prepare.
We will make every effort to provide appropriate facilities for candidates at interviews. Please contact the HR Department should you have any requirements to enable you to attend your interview.
The interview panel will make their decision on which candidate to appoint on the basis of the evidence made available to them throughout the recruitment and selection process. Normally, we will notify you of the outcome of your interview within five working days.
