Our Apprenticeship Greenkeeping students recently enjoyed a fantastic educational visit to North Hants Golf Club, where they were given a valuable behind-the-scenes insight into the world of modern turf management.
Hosted by Master Greenkeeper Sam Evans, the day offered students the opportunity to explore the many elements involved in maintaining a championship-standard golf course. From bunker maintenance and fertilisation programmes to ecology, irrigation systems, machinery operations, and the importance of teamwork, students gained a real understanding of the wide-ranging skills required within the industry.
The visit highlighted the “big picture” of greenkeeping and demonstrated how every aspect of course management works together to deliver exceptional playing conditions.
A huge thank you to Sam Evans and the specialist team at North Hants Golf Club for providing such an engaging, educational, and inspiring experience for our students.
